Sybolt de Jong, 1961

began his organ studies with Piet Wiersma and his theory studies with Dick Dijk. Thereafter he studied organ with Wim van Beek and Johan Beeftink as well as harpsichord with Jacques Ogg at the Municipal Conservatory in Groningen. In addition, he undertook piano lessons with Rob van Deinse and, in El Escorial, participated in harpsichord masterclasses with Aline Zylberajch.
He completed his undergraduate organ studies in 1982 and his postgraduate harpsichord studies in 1985. As a teacher of organ and harpsichord, as well as an ensemble coach, Sybolt de Jong worked at the ICO, (Centre for Art and Culture in Assen) from 1992 until 2011. He is active as a composer, teacher and arranger.
